It's been awhile since the last time I updated my blog.
There were a lot of things to update like...I got married and became a grad school student.
But let's skip these boring topics.lol
I will blog about how unlucky I was yesterday at Manila Airport (NAIA) because I know everyone wants to hear about someone else's unlucky story instead of a love story of me and my husband...hahaha
Telling unlucky stories in funny ways...that's my blog-ism.
I've been through a lot of problems regarding visas and airports everywhere in the world, but this is the first time that I experienced "The Terminal" in a real world.
Do you remember the movie "The Terminal" starring Tom Hanks?
Tom Hanks got trapped in the airport in the movie, and that was just what happened to me yesterday at Manila airport. So I became "Tomo Hanks".
I am currently a student in Ateneo de Manila University and I have a student visa.
If you have student visa in the Philippines, you need ACR-I card.
And my card was not released before my flight, so I went to the airport without the ACR-I card and I got caught at the immigration.
I was explaining (and yelling) about my situation at the immigration at 5am in the morning but they never let me leave the country without ACR-I card.
I couldn't leave the country and I had no place to go back because I checked out my apartment..."Tomo Hanks" here I am.
The programme office told me "we get my ACR-I card today", so I decided to stay in the airport so that I can fly as soon as I get the card.
After I took a nap at terminal 1, I decided to move to terminal 3, which has more variety of shops and restaurants than terminal 1.
I went out of the terminal, and what I saw was people, people and people.
And traffic jam and traffic jam and noisy horns.
Well, basically everywhere is like that in Manila, but carrying 30kg suitcase in this crowd was a nightmare.
I waited a terminal shuttle to come for an hour in this hell, but it never appeared.
So I gave up and took taxi to terminal 3.
I managed to make it to terminal 3, and ordered chicken burger combo at Wendy's.
I ordered iced tea because I'm not a fan of pops, and what I got was a coke, not iced tea...
So I asked a staff to change and I got iced tea...I thought.
IT WAS A COKE AGAIN!!
Seriously!? I finally got my iced tea after that...
And the staff came to me smiling and said "please visit this website and rate my service!"
I was so confused...how can she ask me to rate her service after she gave me coke twice? I didn't get it...
I kept waiting from 5 in the morning until 5 in the evening with a hope that I will get the card, but I found out my card has not been released yet and it won't happen until next Monday.
Our vacation is only for 10 days.
It was difficult for me to decide whether I go back to Japan or not, but I decided to go home to see my husband.
But I never expected I would be trapped in the Philippines for 3 days...
There was nothing that I can do, so I finally booked a hotel in Makati and left the airport.
(I didn't want to be Tomo Hanks for a whole weekend.lol)
When I got taxi, it was traffic jam and traffic jam and traffic jam again!
It took me 2.5 hours to get to my hotel in Makati.
When I finally made it to my hotel, I was told the single room that I booked was fully occupied, so I will be upgraded to deluxe room.
I thought I finally got something lucky after I went through such an unlucky day.
But when I saw my room, it was too big and I felt lonely even more...
What an unlucky day...really.
Or probably I was lucky enough to survive such an unlucky day?
I was so unlucky and I might have been dead by now, you know??
I survived one of my worst days of my life without dying...isn't it such a lucky thing?
I had to fabricate this positive thoughts so that I can get rid of my depression.
Anyway...LET ME GO HOME!!!!
Oh well, a typhoon is approaching to Japan and it is forecasted to hit Kansai next Tuesday, on the day I am planning to fly.
And after that holiday week starts in Japan and a ferry to the island where my husband lives is almost fully booked.
Can I really make it to the island and see my hubby? No one knows...
